176th Annual Fonda Fair Set for Aug. 30-Sept. 4
Six Days Packed With Shows, Rides, Food, Family Fun
FONDA, N.Y. (June 21, 2017)—The Fonda Fair will kick off its 176th year beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 30 and continuing through Monday, Sept. 4.
Opening Day is Children’s Day! Children under the age of 14 get in free all day and can register for a chance to win a bicycle. Four bikes will be part of the give-away. Later, don’t miss out on the New York Tractor Pullers Association’s Tractor and Truck Pull starting at 7 p.m.
On Thursday, Aug. 31, the fun continues with a day full of events, wristband specials and shows. There will be a Tractor Driving Contest at 1 p.m. and at 7 p.m., get in on the action at the Demolition Derby or try your luck as a cowboy/girl at our brand new this year Rodeo event!
Friday, Sept. 1 is another Children’s Day at the Fonda Fair! Children under the age of 14 get in free all and there will be another bicycle give-away. Animal shows, the baby contest and the Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull will take place during the day. In addition, the 4-Wheel Drive Outlaw Gas Truck Pull will begin at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 2, experience the excitement of the rabbit hopping contest and the action-packed Demolition Derby. Then, grab an afternoon snack and see the Farm Bureau’s Giant Ice Cream Sundae! At 6 p.m., be the first to see the new this year Monster Truck and Motorcycle Show followed by fireworks at dark.
On Sunday, Sept. 3, bring an unwrapped toy for Toys For Tots “Stuff The Ambulance!” Then, saddle-up for the Western & Huntseat Horse Show, watch the 4th annual Convoy for a Cause Parade and enjoy the 5th annual Firemen’s Field Day Competition.
On Monday, Sept. 4, the fair goes out with a bang! Everyone gets in free until noon and all fireman and military personnel in uniform get in free all day. Enjoy a day of DJ’d music by Dr. Kwazy Tunes, the Garden Tractor Pull at 11 a.m. and the Demolition Derby at 6 p.m.
Daily events will include Midway rides, 4-H demonstrations, the Heather Brooke Clydesdales Six Horse Exhibit, “WHODUNIT” Karaoke Contests, Rosaire’s Royal Racers racing pig show, the K9’s in Flight Flying Frisbee and Dock Diving Dog Show and Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo.
There will be daily $25 unlimited ride wristband specials. General admission is $10 for adults, $2 for children ages 6 to 11, free for children under 6, and $5 for senior citizen on Wednesday and Friday. Presale mega tickets are $27 and include admission to the fair and an all-day wristband. Presale tickets will be available until opening day.
